Environmental involvement has been at the heart of Peugeot Scooters’ strategy for many years. This is illustrated through the company’s commitment to sustainable development and its ability to perpetually innovate.

The brand is convinced that with two-wheel vehicles that are highly eco-friendly, driving pleasure and driving comfort can be developed in such a way that the driving experience becomes optimally easygoing and totally in phase with the environmental concerns of our times.

Key figures

Peugeot Scooters has been committed to a better environmental sustainability for many years. This commitment is illustrated through an extensive range of practical measures, including two-wheel vehicles that are cleaner and more economical.

• Commercialization of the first electric scooter in 1996;
• CO2 emission rate divided by 8 in 10 years; currently less than 1g/km; thanks to the move from the Euro 0 standard to the Euro 3 standard;
• The MD13 evo engine, fitted on CITYSTAR 125i, reduces fuel consumption by 20% compared to the previous Satelis/Geopolis M3A motorization;
• In 2011, launch of the 100% electric scooter with zero CO₂ emission whilst driving: e-VIVACITY.

   

Innovation

The Brand’s challenge: Fight the greenhouse gas effect by reducing noxious emissions, be optimally eco-friendly whilst improving daily driving comfort.

To meet this challenge, Peugeot Scooters Research and Development Department constantly innovates, for example, by presenting its latest H2i engine, available on the JET H2i.

It reduces fuel consumption by 25% to 30% (compared with a JET carburettor engine) and reduces the particles in the smoke emission upon cold-starts.
